Power BI User Group Belgium’s First Evening Seminar: An encouraging start!
On Monday, February 10th, 2025, the Power BI User Group Belgium hosted its very first Evening Seminar, and it was a success! We were thrilled to welcome Power BI enthusiasts from all over Belgium for an engaging evening full of insightful learning, networking, and, of course, great food!
The highlight of the evening was an informative and practical session by Henk Vlootman, who shared his expertise on Best Practices in Power BI. Henk walked the audience through essential tips and techniques for creating efficient and effective reports and dashboards in Power BI Desktop. He covered a range of important topics, including:
- Filters: How to use and optimize filters in Power BI to ensure your reports are accurate and easy to navigate.
- Date Tables: Best practices for managing date tables and ensuring your time-based data is properly handled.
- Bookmarks: How to leverage bookmarks to enhance user experience and create dynamic, interactive reports.
- And Many More: Henk also delved into other crucial aspects of Power BI that can make or break your report-building process.
Of course, there was plenty of time for a Q&A session, where participants had the opportunity to ask Henk questions, share experiences, and dive deeper into Power BI’s advanced functionalities. The exchange of knowledge and ideas was truly valuable, and we’re glad so many of you took part!
In addition to the learning experience, we made sure to keep the atmosphere relaxed and social. Attendees were treated to a delicious dinner of hot, freshly baked pizzas 🍕 and refreshing drinks 🍻. It was a great opportunity to network, make new connections, and continue discussions in a casual setting.
