Third time is a charm 😊
On Thursday, may the 8th, the Power BI User Group Belgium hosted his third Evening Seminar. Again, we could welcome Power BI enthusiasts form Belgium & The Netherlands. We provide them with an evening of learning, networking and great food ….
This time the event was hosted by BMatix at Kontich (Belgium).
This evening, we had 2 fantastic speakers:
- Joël Vangrunderbeeck- “Embedding Power BI reports on your own portal”
Power BI is one of the best reporting tools on the market, but can get expensive if you want to share it outside of your organization with unlimited users. Power BI embedded reports are a solution for this problem.
In this session he explained and showed ‘the ins and outs’ of Power BI embedded. Everything from licensing to the API calls you need to write / code you need to provide. - Michael Schwaenen – ‘Excel’ in Power BI, or rather don’t
Every Power BI developer has faced the inevitable question: “How do we export this data to Excel?” The frustration is real after dedicating endless hours to craft an efficient semantic model and a visually appealing report, only to find that users are fixated on exporting data to Excel.
Drawing from his extensive consultancy experience across various clients, in this session he explained a guide for understanding the underlying reasons behind this ubiquitous question. More importantly, he explored effective strategies to redirect and minimize the constant focus on exporting to Excel.
After this session, we all comprehended the motivation behind the export-to-Excel fixation but also acquired practical techniques to steer our Power BI projects towards a more seamless and user-friendly experience.
Conclusion: “Say goodbye to the Excel export dilemma and embrace a more refined approach to Power BI data consumption!”
Each speaker answered with immense pleasure each question of the participants.
During the break our host provided tasteful pizza.
