On Thursday, 7 May, we hosted the eighth session of the Power BI User Group Belgium. This time, we headed to the east of our tiny but mighty country, to the beautiful Corda Campus in Hasselt.
Our friendly host for the evening was Aggerem, who spoiled us with delicious sandwiches, free drinks, and a fantastic meeting room. A big thank you for the warm welcome and excellent hosting! 🙌
With 30 attendees, the group continues to grow steadily. Maybe that had something to do with our speakers… 😉
Robbe Volders had the honour of kicking things off with his session “Power Automate in Power BI”. Or, in other words: how we can still learn plenty more about automation. And honestly, why don’t we use it more often when it’s this easy? After Robbe’s enthusiasm and convincing examples, we’ll definitely be giving it a try. No pressure, Robbe — but expectations are now automated too. 🤖
After the drinks break, the moment had finally arrived. Our chairman had been trying for a year, but that evening he finally managed to secure a session from the one and only Valerie Junk. A passionate data analyst who is, quite frankly, in love with her own sessions — flown in all the way from Cologne especially to join us this time. Okay, we may be exaggerating slightly. Just slightly. 😄✈️
With all her energy and enthusiasm, Valerie showed us how we can make our visuals much clearer for our customers. Her introduction to the “lipstick chart” and “lollipop chart” were real eye-catchers. Who knew data visualisation could sound this glamorous? 💄🍭📊
The networking afterwards once again proved how valuable these evenings are. Everyone went home with a little extra knowledge, and that is exactly why we do this. Many thanks to all participants for the overwhelmingly positive feedback.
